Karma Yoga : Bloom Cambodia
It has been almost a year since I met Diana, the founder of Bloom Cambodia, and completed 6 Bloom sales under the kind sponsorship of many great friends—Ian & Helen at Body Mind Spirit Festival, Shuli at Joyful Haven, Jade at SPOC Solution, Anne at British Club and Francesca .
I first read about Diana in a Her World magazine and I found her story inspiring. Diana started Bloom Cambodia as a social enterprise – to provide good quality eco bags and be paid a fair price for them. The full proceeds help the Cambodian women she employs with their daily livelihood, their wages and is used to buy raw materials. I eventually met Diana and decided to help raise awareness on the great work she does (as Diana is based in Cambodia) by holding sales whenever I could.
I must admit that it was not an easy feat to convince shoppers to buy a bag made from recycled material, let alone a rice bag! However strangely enough, it made me happy when I got a chance to share Diana’s story with shoppers and I never seemed to get tired of it. Diana’s selflessness made me realize how lucky I was and there is just so much more that I can give.
So if you are looking for a meaningful present or simply wish to support Bloom, please drop me an email. Or just spread the word about Bloom Cambodia. Every thought counts!
